Winge Sets Gold Standard with Silver Eagle Awards

MBI driver, Matt Winge, receives fourth ConocoPhillips Silver Eagle Safety Recognition

At MBI, there is nothing more gratifying than seeing members of our team recognized for their efforts on the job; and valued for their dedication and integrity.  In January, MBI Driver, Matt Winge (Killdeer), was awarded his fourth ConocoPhillips Silver Eagle Safety Recognition at Conoco’s monthly safety meeting.  Brian Potter of ConocoPhillips shared, “there are very few drivers that I can call a friend, and Matt is one of them. When he is on location, he is part of the crew--not just a truck driver. At times, some jobs can be stressful and his smile and good attitude help make those stressful situations better. He knows what he is doing and I have full confidence in him to make the best decisions for the job when we have him onsite.  Matt is detailed in his approach to safety. He always has his JSA ready in-hand and is eager to start the job. He always pays attention to venting and the wind direction. When onsite for a long job, it’s our first conversation – ‘where is our vent gas going?’ If needed, he is happy to hook on more hoses to vent cross- or downstream of the job to ensure the safety of the work going on.  His hard work and diligence have made him my most requested driver and it makes my day when he is onsite.”

Mechanical Project Lead, Matthew Hargrave, explained why Matt has earned the Silver Eagle time and time again, “Matt Winge has been running vac trucks for the PM group since we started the flame/detonation arrestor program almost two years ago.  He is constantly being asked for by name by every mechanical lead in the PM group, as well as multiple other leads in the base capital group.  Matt is the only truck driver I know that is extremely safety-minded and ensures his truck and equipment are in perfect shape. In addition, during down times when he is waiting onsite, he will take the opportunity to walk around the pad and pick up any trash or old pin flags that may have accumulated.  He isconstantly asking if he can help us with clean-ups and has many times grabbed a rag, break cleaner or wrench and worked side-by-side with our roustabout crews.  He is always punctual and the consummate professional.  His attitude is always upbeat and positive and his invoice tickets have never been questioned.  His integrity is beyond reproach.  He is a credit to his company and an important asset to ConocoPhillips.”

Matt’s dedication to a job well done, his attitude and his conscientiousness have earned him multiple Silver Eagle awards; and have reflected positively on all of us at MBI.  Thank you, Matt, for your gold standard of service in all that you do for MBI and our customers.
