MBI Kicks-off 40th Year with 7 Wins

MBI kicks off landmark 40th year with 7 'Best of the Western Edge' awards

To say that 2018 was a good year for MBI Energy Services would be understating what was truly a landmark year for the well-known, local company.  It was at this time last year that majority ownership of MBI was purchased by longstanding partner and global investment firm, Cerberus Capital Management.  MBI joined Cerberus’ impressive portfolio of companies that includes well-known businesses like Avon, Albertsons Companies—the second largest grocery chain in the US--and several successful companies across healthcare, automotive, real estate, and banking sectors. Global Chief Operating Officer & Senior Operating Executive of Cerberus Operations and Advisory Company, Travis Kelly, shared, “we see tremendous value and potential in MBI and want to ensure that it continues to be the one of the leading providers of fluid management logistics and well-intervention services for a long time to come.”

It was also during this time last year that MBI was awarded Best of the Western Edge honors and received the Berkley Oil & Gas Safety Excellence Award, setting the tone for what would be a dynamic year marked with achievement for the North Dakota-grown company.  According to COO, Craig Halsey, “overall, 2018 represented a year in which MBI exceeded our commitments to our shareholders and continued to provide excellent service to our customers.  With that success comes higher expectations for 2019; expectations that we are well positioned to once again exceed.”  Halsey continued, “now to learn that MBI has won ‘Best of the Western Edge’ recognition for all seven categories in which we were nominated in 2019—our 40th year in service to the Williston Basin—is a true honor.  While humbling, we believe being recognized as the best accurately represents the people at MBI who work so incredibly hard every day to serve our customers and communities.  It is extremely satisfying to see more and more prospective employees choose MBI as we head into the new year.  We believe that they are making a wonderful choice for their future and for the continued success of the company.”

MBI began working in 1979 in Belfield, ND and now operates from locations throughout the Bakken, and recently expanded into the Permian Basin.  Best known locally for their work in trucking for the energy industry, MBI diversified their service offerings over the years to provide local expertise in all phases of a well’s life cycle, making MBI one of the largest employers in North Dakota’s oil-producing counties.  “We strive to be our best each day for our customers and our employees; and to be the employer of choice for people pursuing careers in this exciting industry,” shares MBI Director of Communication and Recruiting, Marya Skaare.   “There could not be a more perfect start to our 40th anniversary year than learning of our Best of the Western Edge honors.  Over the years, it has been so important to us to be a good neighbor and help strengthen the communities where we live and work.  This recognition from our friends and neighbors is the best compliment we could receive for the quality of work we do and the caliber of people we employ at MBI.  Our sincere thanks for supporting the hard-working men and women at MBI by voting MBI the Best again this year!”
