MBI Named 2020 Best of the Western Edge

MBI Energy Services takes home three titles in 'Best of the Western Edge' competition -- Best Place to Work in the Oil Patch, Best Water Haulers & Best Workover Service

A Bakken success story, North Dakota-grown MBI Energy Services began working in the small community of Belfield, ND in 1979.  From its humble beginnings as a family-owned trucking company, MBI has excelled in oilfield logistics and diversified its service offerings over the years to provide local expertise in all phases of a well’s life cycle—including Best of the Western Edge-winning workover rig service.  “The rig service business in the Bakken is a fast-paced, highly competitive business. MBI is certainly proud of receiving recognition for Best Workover for the second year in a row,” shares MBI VP of Well Servicing, Greg Burbach.  “Year over year, we have worked hard to build a rigs team that is truly second to none.  This recognition belongs to the hard working, dedicated, safety-minded people working in the MBI Workover division.  We feel very fortunate to be aligned with some of the best customers in the Basin who share our belief that no job is worth doing unless you can do it safely.  Working together in that commitment is what helps us all to achieve our best--for our people, our customers, and our communities--all while being responsible custodians of our environment.”

In addition to their repeat recognition for high quality workover rig service, MBI has once again been recognized for the service offering that built MBI and for the company culture that makes MBI special.  “We are thrilled to be selected - yet again - as the ‘Best Water Haulers’ and ‘Best Place to Work in the Oil Patch’, says MBI President & COO, Craig Halsey.  “Sports writers and others use the term ‘three-peat’ to describe true consistency in championship performance.  Our ‘three-peat’ in both ‘Water Hauling’ and ‘Best Place to Work in the Oil Patch’ speaks volumes about the commitment of our people to a job well done and to creating a workplace that focuses on performance, customers, and colleagues.  Our work is extraordinarily meaningful to our customers. It is an honor to be part of the MBI Energy Services team that is repeatedly recognized for building an environment where the human spirit gets meaningful work accomplished.”

Building a reputation that earns recognition like this is not something that happens overnight; nor can it be done alone.  As a long-time, local employer and one of the largest employers in North Dakota’s oil-producing counties, MBI recognizes that the quality of their workforce determines the quality of their service.  Kjersti Armstrong, MBI Vice President & General Counsel, explains “our workforce is our greatest resource and we strive to create a collaborative and high-performing environment where we all succeed together.” MBI Director of Communication & Recruiting, Marya Skaare, adds, “with historically low unemployment rates, it is increasingly important for companies to ensure that they are the kinds of places where people want to work.  To be named the Best Place to Work in the Oil Patch for a third time speaks to that commitment at MBI.  We are honored to have been nominated and humbled to have been voted the ‘Best’ by our friends and neighbors again this year.  Our sincere ‘thank you’ for paying such a high compliment to all of us at MBI.”
