MBI - Best of the Western Edge

When the Dickinson Press launched the first-ever ‘Best of’ competition to recognize local favorites in the region last November, MBI Energy Services did not anticipate the broad showing of support for the work they do when nominations were announced.  People were encouraged to nominate their favorite businesses in Dickinson and surrounding areas in several categories, including the Oil Patch.  “While one can hope that your company will be nominated, there are so many choices in the marketplace that you simply can’t predict the support you will receive,” said Marya Skaare, MBI’s Director of Communication.

In December, MBI was honored to learn the company had been nominated in three categories: Best Place to Work, Best Water Haulers and Best Water Transfer; and the MBI-hosted, Bakken BBQ had been nominated in the Best Charity Event category.  “We were both honored and humbled by the news that we were nominated; and now to have been named the winner in all categories is incredible,” says Skaare.  “It is truly a credit to the hardworking men and women who put their best into each day at MBI that we are being recognized as the ‘Best of the Western Edge.’”

MBI Energy Services is a North Dakota-grown company that began working in 1979 in Belfield, ND and now operates from locations in Belfield, Dickinson, Killdeer, Ross, Watford City and Williston; in addition to locations in Colorado and Wyoming.  Best known locally for their work in trucking for the energy industry, MBI has expanded their service offerings over the years to provide local expertise in all phases of a well’s life cycle, including water hauling and water transfer services--which earned them ‘Best of’ honors; as well as oil trucking; waste management; winch and flatbed; workover/service rigs; wireline; hot oil; crane services; and rentals.

“We are intensely committed to the safety of our employees; to the needs of our customers; and to the communities where we work.  This commitment is at the core of who we are as a company and it is truly a gift to have the support of our friends and neighbors in western North Dakota in the Best of the Western Edge contest. The true ‘jewel in the crown’ of this recognition is being named the ‘Best Place to Work,’” says Skaare.  “Growing up in North Dakota, I personally feel that our state is the best of the best for so many reasons; and working at North Dakota-based MBI, I work among the best in the industry and am so proud of the investment MBI makes in employee safety, training and benefits.  It is a good feeling to see MBI recognized as the ‘Best Place to Work’; and we are all so grateful for such overwhelming local support.”
